Shop Local Greenbelt

Why?

Spend a dollar at a locally owned business and 45 cents stays in the community. At a national chain or franchise, and the community sees only 14 cents.

When a dollar remains in the community, and is re-spent in town, it multiplies local income. If I spend a dollar at Generous Joes, and Joe spends that dollar at the Co-Op, and Jenny spends the same dollar at Beltway Plaza Hardware, and Barry spends it at Greenbelt Yoga, and Laura spends it at Pleasant Touch, that $1 spent locally turns into $5 in income for Greenbelt businesses.

Locally owned businesses are the nations largest employer, invest in their communities, require less infrastructure than national chains, maintain the character and uniqueness in their community, and they donate more to local causes. Shop local!
